Road accidents are a serious problem with major consequences not only for individuals but also for society as a whole, and their analysis is crucial for improving road safety. The aim of this study was to evaluate traffic accidents in the vicinity of Netvorice between January 2014 and November 2024. Using content analysis, it was found that the most frequent type of traffic accident was collision with wildlife, collision with a fixed obstacle and collision with a moving non-road vehicle. The total material damage amounted to CZK 15 629 200. Using Pearson's correlation analysis, it was found that there was a moderate relationship between the number of accidents and the material damage in days of the week, and it was also found that road repair did not have an effect on reducing the number of accidents. The contribution of the paper is to provide information for local authorities and transport planners in formulating preventive measures aimed at reducing the number of accidents and minimising their consequences in the area. The thesis is limited by its focus on a limited time frame and a specific geographical location. Further research could focus on traffic accidents in a different area or over a wider time period.
