The aim of the study was to evaluate and assess the development of the US dollar from 2017 to August 2023 and the relationship between the US dollar and the Czech crown. A linear regression with secondary data obtained by content analysis was performed to determine the evolution of the US dollar in the foreign exchange market at the USD/CZK exchange rate. During the period under study, the value of the US dollar fluctuated continuously, but nevertheless the trend was slightly downward. The exchange rate ranged from 20.163 CZK/1 USD to 26.017 CZK/1 USD. Using linear regression charts, several fluctuations were detected; these can be considered as the COVID-19 pandemic or the war in Ukraine. The research was limited by the structure of the data, as the data was only released on weekdays. Another suitable research could be considered the prediction of the US dollar.
